PRESENTATIONS
1. Mount Dora Fun Fact - The Golden Triangle Shopping Center merchants held a back to school Fish-a-thon in Lake TEM which is the pond in front of the shopping center. The name TEM stands for Tavares, Eustis and Mount Dora (the golden triangle). Students won trophies, bikes and school supplies based on the size of fish they caught.
2. Pink Tea Proclamation - This is the 20th Annual Pink Tea Event to raise money to provide free mammograms. This year’s event is August 26th at 2 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Mount Dora.
3. Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Audit Presentation by MSL CPAs & Advisors
CONSENT AGENDA - Item #6 was pulled for further discussion by Mayor Stile. The remaining Consent Agenda items were approved with a 7-0 voice vote.
1. Request Approval of the Piggyback Agreement Between the City of Mount Dora and Tampa Armature Works, Inc. Related to Motor Repair Services
2. Request Approval of the Agreement for the Project Archivist Grant with the Florida Department of State, Division of Historical Resources
3. Request Approval of Amendment 1 to the Piggyback Agreement Between the City of Mount Dora and Guardian Equipment, Inc. for Chemical Feed Systems Maintenance and Repair Parts
4. Request Approval to Execute Engagement with Fisher & Phillips, LLP for Legal Representation of the City of Mount Dora for Union Negotiations and Union-related Matters
5. Request Approval of Renewal Proposal for Reinsurance with Florida Blue
**6. Request Approval of Task Authorization with Faden Builders for 5th Avenue ADA Sidewalk Improvements. - This item was pulled by Mayor Stile for further discussion. A motion was made to table this item until the September 7, 2023 Regular City Council Meeting so that a tree expert could present options for shade trees to be planted after sidewalk improvements are made. Crepe myrtles are what is currently proposed. This passed 7-0.
7. Request Approval of Change Order for PO 23-2000 with C.A.P Government Inc., for On-Call Building Inspection Services
8. Request Approval to Apply for the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Grants and Request Authorization for the Mayor to Sign the Application Once Complete
9. Request Approval to Waive Fees for Use of the Donnelly Park Building by Empty Bowls
10. Request Approval of Meeting Minutes

ACTION ITEMS
PUBLIC HEARINGS
1. Request approval of First Reading of Ordinance No. 2023-11, Land Development Code Amendment. At the request of staff, a Motion was made to table this item until the September 7, 2023 Regular City Council Meeting to include additional changes to the Land Development Code which were suggested by the Planning Commission and inadvertently left out of the version presented. This passed 7-0.
2. Request Adoption of Resolution No. 2023-30, Approving Financial Support for Lake Cares, Inc. This passed 7-0.
3. Request Adoption of Resolution No. 2023-32, Safe Place Initiative. This passed 7-0
